Day 01

routeRoute :  Colombo > Habarana or Sigiriya

Meet with the tour assistants at Airport, then head towards Sigiriya or Habarana. Check in to your hotel and lunch.

Afternoon, go on an elephant back ride through the jungle and around the lake Habarana.

Day 02

After breakfast visit Sigiriya, the rock fortress. Climb Sigiriya – The Rock Fortress. Sigriya meaning lion rock is more than just a fortress; it was one of the most unique cities in the history of Sri Lanka. A massive monolith of red stone that rises 600ft, this famous rock fortress.

Sigiriya Perched at 370 m, at the top of a rock of red stone which dominates a harmonious set of gardens designed in the fifth century, the citadel of Sigiriya has been classified by UNESCO since 1982. Anfractuosity of the rock preserves the jewel of the Sri Lankan painting : The portraits of twenty-one young ladies, whose delicate colors have kept their luster for 1,500 years.

Eagle's nest of a parricide king, Kasyapa, the palace of the summit is served by a narrow staircase that sneaks between giant paws.

Day 03

routeRoute :  Habarana > Polonnaruwa > Reserve De Minneriya 4x4- Habarana or Sigiriya

After breakfast visit Polonnaruwa – The Kingdom that is never forgotten Polonnaruwa is the island’s medieval capital (11th - 13th Centuries AD).

Lunch at Polonnaruwa.

Afternoon, take the safari jeep 4x4 in Minneriya National Park.

En route, visit Village Wood Carving Center : This is a rare opportunity to see skilled men at work. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Polonnaruwa

Polonnaruwa remains as the second most ancient royal city in Sri Lanka's kingdom. The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage Site.Today this ancient city remains one of the best planned archaeological relic cities in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom's first rulers. 13th Century, Polonnaruwa is considered one of the best preserved historic cities in the world.

Minneriya

Safari 4x4 vehicle Minneriya covering an area of 8 889 ha, still uncrowded, where hordes of wild elephants gather. The vegetation is quite varied, as in most national parks of Sri Lanka, between dense forests, bamboos and swampy plains where waterfowl and birds of prey, buffaloes and marsh crocodiles proliferate. If you are lucky, a leopard in search of food will cross your path. Other species that roam the park include: bear, macaque, monkey, giant Ceylon squirrel, jackal, etc.

Day 04

routeRoute :  Habarana > Dambulla > Nalanda Gedige > Matale > Kandy

After breakfast, leave for départ pour Kandy.

Enroute, visit Dambulla. Dambulla cave temple is by far the most impressive of all the many cave temples in Sri Lanka.

A visit to Nalanda Gedige - gedige is an image house - is strongly recommended, because it exhibits a composite style of architecture unique in Sri Lanka.

Lunch at Spice garden followed by a Sri Lankan traditional cooking demonstration.

Vist a spice garden and a batik factory.

Arrival at Kandy. Check in and relax at hotel.

Afternoon, Afternoon visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic Kandy. Participation in the ceremony of evening puja.

Kandy

Kandy is the main town in the center of Sri Lanka, 116 km from Colombo and is watered by the Mahaweli River. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.At the center of the Kandy city, there is a lake, which was originally a reservoir of water that was excavated by the English during colonization. The place is still very popular for walking.The famous Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, this vast monument, built in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, houses the most valuable relic of the Buddhist universe: a tooth of Gautama. People from all over the world have been praying for this tooth, a symbol of power, for centuries.

You will also be able to admire the golden dagoba that houses the relic, but you can attend a puja ceremony by mingling with the crowd of worshipers.

Day 05

routeRoute :  Kandy > Rambukkana > Pinnawala > Peradeniya > Kandy

After breakfast, take the train from Kandy to Rambukkana. Visit the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala.

Lunch in the river banks of Mahaoya.

Afternoon, visit botanical gardens of Peradeniya.

Return to Kandy by three wheel. Kandy, the ancient royal city. Visit a work shop of gems & jewellery.

Dinner and night at the hotel.

Pinnawala

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, situated about 90KM away from Colombo. Be there at the right time to see specially elephant bathing time & their feeding time of baby elephants. It is a unique place to observe and approach elephants.

Day 06

routeRoute :  Kandy > Gampola > Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, leave for Nuwara Eliya through the large tea estates of hill country towards Nuwara Eliya.

Lunch at Ramboda Falls Restaurant opposite the scenic waterfall.

En route, stop by a tea factory, and enjoy a cup of Sri Lankan tea.

Dinner and night at the hotel.

At 180KM from Colombo and 77 KM from Kandy, this city with 1900m of attitude is ranked as the highest in Sri Lanka. Nuwaraeliya has a mild climate & freshness . You can see rolling hills , woods and tea plantations, a lake and streams, orchards or grow vegetables , golf courses, meadows and colonial houses.

Day 07

routeRoute :  Nuwara Eliya > Kitulgala > Negombo or Colombo

After breakfast, leave towards the coastal waters Negombo.

Visit Kitulgala where famous movie “Bridge on the river Kwai” has been shot.

Lunch at Kitulgala.

Visit the fishing village in Negombo.

Negombo

Negombo is a lively city, and very strongly influenced by the Catholic Church. This city has a rich testimony of the past. Portuguese churches, a legacy of ancient history, scattered here and there is a tropical vegetation in Negambo, a smal village of fishermen who live to the rhythm of the winds and the sea. Here you can visit the fish market and also do a boat trip on the Dutch canal.

Day 08

routeRoute :  Negombo > Colombo > Airport > Maldives (Resort in Maldives)

Transfer to the airport of Colombo and departure to the Maldives.

At arrival in Male, welcome by a representative and transfer to the resort by speed boat or sea plane at hotel.

Arrival at the resort and check in. A day to relax at your discretion on full board basis.
